CIMA puts Canada in the Spotlight at BIME
CIMA is proud to be leading the Canadian mission to BIME, the first European conference dedicated to opportunities for music businesses in gaming, apps, digital and new technologies, in Bilbao, Spain from November 19-23rd, 2013.
Canada has been selected as the inaugural guest country at BIME, a conference which will bring together top artists, executives and professionals from music, gaming and technology. As such, CIMA will be hosting a Canadian Blast Showcase, as well as a series of speed meetings and panels for industry professionals from around the world. Canada’s participation in the conference will be celebrated at the official BIME launch reception, which will be hosted by the Right Honourable Joe Allen, Canada’s Ambassador to Spain.
“BIME will be a tremendous opportunity to put Canada’s music industry in the international spotlight,” said Stuart Johnston, President of CIMA. Indeed, Canadian music will have an audience that will include top European music professionals, as well as leaders from YouTube, Google, Apple and more. “This conference will serve as a nexus between the music and technology industries,” continued Johnston, “and CIMA is proud to put Canada at centre of that.”
CIMA’s Canadian Blast showcase will be an integral component of BIME Live, a city-wide festival accompanying the conference that will feature the Manic Street Preachers and John Grant. Canadian Blast will take place on the 21st of November, featuring performances by Japanese Girls, Rich Aucoin and Megan Bonnell.
