Music Managers Forum renames its Pioneer Award to honour the late Brian Chater
The 8th Annual Music Managers Honour Roll Reception and Dinner is set to take place on May 9, 2014 at the Toronto Marriott Downtown during Canadian Music Week. The Pioneer Award, conceived four years ago to pay homage to the efforts of those who have been instrumental in creating the framework for Artist Management in the Canadian Entertainment industries, is being renamed this year for its 2014 recipient: the late Brian Chater.
Brian, who served as President of CIMA (then CIRPA) from 1987-2006, was a tireless champion of the independent music industry in Canada, and his vision throughout the years inspired and helped create some of the policies and institutions that remain the pillars of our industry today. CIMA is proud and honoured to celebrate his legacy with MMF this year, and for many more to come!
