Showcase Submissions Now Open: MusicOntario & CIMA at Folk Alliance Int
For the first time ever, Folk Alliance will be held in New Orleans from January 22-26 at The Sheraton in 2020. This is the world’s largest gathering of the folk music industry and community (crossing a diverse array of genres including Blues, Bluegress, Roots, Celtic, Cajun, Appalachian, Traditional, World and Singer-Songwriter), boasting a comprehensive conference, custom business opportunities and hundreds of showcasing opportunities.
This year CIMA will be sponsoring a select number of artists in the MusicOntario showcasing room.
The criteria to be eligible for this opportunity is:
- You must be a CIMA member in good standing based in Ontario representing an Ontario based artist OR non-Ontario based artist
- You must be a CIMA member in good standing based outside of Ontario who represents an Ontario artist
CIMA will also offer various B2B opportunities throughout Folk Alliance in the MusicOntario room for participating companies. More details to come.
MusicOntario’s private showcasing suite will run for 3 nights from Thursday, January 23 until Saturday. January 25. Showcases will be brief – 15 minutes each, with a 5 minute changeover. Showcases will take place in suites in the host hotel so you must have an acoustic configuration, with only light percussion permitted. MusicOntario will provide a sound technician for performers to use.
A non-refundable administrative fee of $15.00 per submission is applicable if you are not a current member in good standing of MusicOntario. The discounted members-only rate is $5.00 per submission. To receive the discount please contact samr@cimamusic.ca.
