CIMA Vice-President (Operations) Donna Murphy Announces Retirement
TORONTO, ON – Vice-President (Operations), Donna Murphy, has announced her retirement from the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA, formerly CIRPA) after 35+ years at the organization. Donna’s retirement began as of March 31st, 2018.
Donna Murphy has dedicated more than thirty years to her
work in the music industry, starting her career in a small independent music
company in Toronto. She then joined Earl Rosen & Associates where she
worked on behalf of the Canadian Independent Record Production Association (CIRPA),
before being hired to work directly for CIRPA. At CIRPA, she advanced to a
number of positions, including: Research Director, Database Administrator for
the CIRPA/ADISQ Foundation, Manager of the Canadian Music Industry Database,
and finally, Vice-President Operations with the Canadian Independent Music
Association (CIMA). Donna was also the founding Executive Director of the
Songwriters Association of Canada (SAC).
"I feel privileged to have spent essentially my full career doing my best to move our industry forward contributing 30+ years to CIRPA/CIMA’s work in developing programs and services that benefit Canadian music companies, artists and creators." said Donna.

The Canadian Independent Music Association is the not-for-profit national trade association representing the English-language, Canadian-owned sector of the music industry. CIMA supports the independent music community through advocacy, professional development, showcasing, and celebration both nationally and internationally.
