CIMA Partners with Re:Sound and AVLA to build Online Music Database
CIMA has partnered with Re:Sound and the Audio Visual Licensing Agency (AVLA) to make significant improvements to our Canadian Music Industry Database - to be known as the Canadian Independent Music Database.
Together, we will capture relevant information on indie labels in Canada, including what albums they've released and the musicians who played on those albums.
Completing this database will help with royalty distribution to our member companies and their artists.
The Canadian Independent Music Database will also help us build a public website featuring indie labels and artists active in Canada. Our hope is that this public resource will serve as a gathering point for artists and labels and will spur innovation and collaboration in the indie sector.
For this project to be successful, we need information from you. In the coming days, you will receive an e-mail from Alison Porter at Re:Sound detailing the information we need from you to complete this database.
This is information that you likely have already collected such as albums and singles your label has released in recent years, basic track information and a catalogue of musicians who played on those tracks.
Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.
