City-To-City ECMAs
Charlottetown, meet Toronto! CIMA is launching its City-to-City program, bringing together music hubs at the East Coast Music Awards. CIMA is excited to bring 5 Ontario industry professionals on board to join the ECMAs Export Program. The association aims to facilitate connections between East Coast Industry and Ontario representation, fostering new relationships and collaborations. Industry leaders from Tiny Kingdom Music (Label/Management), Export buyers from Wracket Music Supervision, as well as representatives from Mariposa Folk Festival/Riverfest Elora, and Afrofest/Music Africa of Canada will be in attendance. Sam Rayner from CIMA will also be present to facilitate introductions and networking opportunities. Attendees can join the mixer, where they’ll get the chance to mingle over light refreshments. Everton, Jr. was the previous Head Music Supervisor at VICE Canada where he managed the music department for Virtue Agency, VICETV and VICE Editorial/Social. He sits on the board of the Guild of Music Supervisors Canada. Today, Everton, Jr has returned to music supervision on his own terms with his company, Wracket Music Supervision Inc. working with his team of 5 on most recent projects like Eli Roths' Feature Film - Thanksgiving and CRAVE's Bria Mack Gets Her Life Back. Newly entrusted with the role of Artistic Director of the fabled Mariposa Festival, Spencer is looking forward to a great 2024 season! At the same time, he is continuing on with his role as Artistic Director at Riverfest Elora, where he has played an integral role in guiding the festival through a period of rapid growth since 2014. Two of Ontario’s most celebrated festivals! Spencer also sits on the Board of Directors for the River and Sky Festival (Sudbury) and the Elora Centre for the Arts. Previously, he has held seats on the Board Of Directors for the Halifax Pop Explosion, the Hillside Festival (2007 – 2012) and CFRU 93.3FM (2010, 2011), worked as Artistic Director and Event Manager for Waterstock (2017) and 100 Mile Riot (2012, 2013), curated and managed the Fortnight Music Series (2007 to 2016), acted as label manager for SunnyLane Records (2005 – 2008), among many other adventures. The Mariposa Folk Festival takes place on July 5-6, 2024. Riverfest Elora takes place on August 16-18 2024.

Peter Toh is an entrepreneur, business consultant, and cultural connector who has worked with multiple organizations including: The Government of Canada, Ryerson University, Rogers Communication and currently with Music Africa of Canada Inc.
An MBA graduate from Metropolitan University and a certified Financial Planner from Humber College, Peter has used his educational background and community building experience to benefit various not-for-profit organizations. He has worked as a radio host at CKDU FM – Halifax and CKLN FM Toronto promoting African music and culture through radio and community events.
Currently in his 8th year as Executive & Artistic Director of Music Africa, Peter Toh has successfully grown the financial and community base of the organization, expanding it to present events in 6 other Canadian and international cities and hiring over 400 African artists annually from all over the world to showcase their talents at these events.
SAM RAYNER

Born and bred on the East Coast, Sam Rayner claims over a decade of immersion in the music scene, both as an artist and an industry devotee. His journey led him to True North Records, where he honed his expertise in Digital Assets and A&R. In 2016, Sam's trajectory converged with CIMA & MusicOntario, where he assumed the role of Membership Development and Services. Here, his responsibilities extend to national programming for CIMA as well as support within CIMA’s Canada House, an export brand spotlighting global artists at festivals like SXSW, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, FAI, and many more. Sam played a crucial role in producing CIMA's new membership levels, particularly the Individual Membership designed to make CIMA more accessible to emerging artists and industry professionals. Beyond his primary role, Sam is deeply involved in the orchestration of day-to-day membership relations, sponsorships, the Road Gold initiative, and spearheads programs such as the CIMA Mental Health Program.
