Panel 1: Global Strategies for Press

- Description: Stop the presses! But don't actually stop the presses! Music is a key driver of identity, and as consumption of music has become more passive through digital service providers, press has become a critical, if dwindling, method of driving the narrative around artists. Our panel of international publicity professionals speaks to the evolving role of the press, and how active artists can make the best use of their marketing budgets to drive their narratives.

Panel 2: Market Deep Dive: Mexico

Panel 3: Market Deep Dive: Pacific Northwest

As territories open up again to showcasing and travel, now is a great time to learn the ins and outs of the most vibrant export markets for Canadian music. You might have heard Vancouver's Said the Whale remarking about wanting to 'build Cascadia' or perhaps BreakOut West 2023 showcasing artist Vanstones dedicating an entire album to the region. Kelowna is an undersung part of the mountainous Pacific Northwest region, which is also home to incredible unique cities and scenes on the other side of the border including Portland, Spokane, Seattle, Boise, and dozens more. Each of these are some of the vibrant hubs for artistic incubation and have skyrocketed incredible artists into the mainstream musical imagination. Hear from some of the most important music companies developing and representing Cascadia at BreakOut West.

In addition to these exciting panels, BreakOut West's legendary 1x1 Meeting schedule is back! These are a series of schedulable B2B meetings with hand-selected industry professionals at BreakOut West, and they are one of the most popular components of the conference. These meetings are 8 minutes long, with a 2-minute break between each. It's a great opportunity to break the ice, hand out your business card, and make a connection you can follow up on. These meetings take place in the Mt. Boucherie room at the Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel and are available between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM on October 12, 13, and 14. All BreakOut West registrants will have access to book 1x1 meetings, but these book quickly!
